Klasifikacijski sistem ekosistemskih storitev je struktura, ki kategorizira ter organizira ekosistemske storitve v sistem. //Projekt [[:sl:wiki:alpesbackground|AlpES]] uporablja CICES klasifikacijo kot podlago za ekosistemske storitve, ki so povezane z alpskim prostorom (alpske ES). Izbor osmih ekosistemskih storitev je temeljil na takratni CICES klasifikaciji (različica 4.3). Sedaj obstaja že različica 5.1 in je povezana z drugimi prej omenjenimi klasifikacijskimi sistemi in strukturnimi spremembami (glej [[:sl:wiki:abiotic_services_alpes|abiotske storitve]]). //
