Projects deal (directly and indirectly) with [[wiki:climate_change|climate change]], and provide new knowledge regarding: 

- the impacts of climate change 
   * forest degradation due to pests ([[wiki:manfred|MANFRED]]); 
   * natural disasters and urbanisation ([[wiki:alp_ffirs|ALP FFIRS]], [[wiki:manfred|MANFRED]]); 
   * permafrost degradation ([[wiki:permanet|PermaNET]]); 
   * increased migration of fauna and flora ([[wiki:econnect|Econnect]]);
- the mitigation and adaptation to climate change 
  * appropriate forest management for preventing the further degradation ([[wiki:manfred|MANFRED]], [[wiki:alp_ffirs|ALP FFIRS]]); 
  * responsible spatial planning for avoiding the negative effects of climate change, e.g. avoiding building on areas with permafrost ([[wiki:permanet|PermaNET]]); safeguarding the natural ecological corridors ([[wiki:econnect|Econnect]]); slow down the process of land fragmentation due to urbanisation ([[wiki:manfred|MANFRED]], [[wiki:econnect|Econnect]]);

  * preparing suitable legal framework for climate change policies and financial funds for their implementation (all projects).
