PermaNET: Synthesis report

Area of application
PermaNET outputs apply at the general level to European high mountain territories. In the final report it is stated that PermaNET, with its products, “contributed to optimizing the decision bases in territorial planning, natural hazard management and water resources management”.
Time frame
The report has been produced during the project timeframe. It gives an overview of the activities that have been carried out and of the main results.

Transferability and re-usability
Transferability is an explicitly named issue for all the activities conducted. In fact, it is clearly stated that the valuable products realized can be used to optimizing the decision bases in natural hazard management practice, in territorial planning and in water resources management (no particular regions or contexts are indicated, suggesting that they might be applicable to Alpine Space areas with permafrost). Concrete re-usability of the recommendations requires local-scale adaptation because each phenomenon has to be studied on site and in detail before making conclusions or decisions in risk management even if recommendations are valid for many locations.
