Ecosystem Mapping
Ecosystem mapping is the spatial delineation of ecosystems following an agreed ecosystem typology or classification system (ecosystem types), which strongly depends on mapping purpose and scale (Maes et al. 2013) 1). Mapping in the broader sense may also include mapping of status (including functioning and health) to monitor and assess the ecosystem's quality. Regarding on the definition, this is considered to be the subject of ecosystem assessment though (see mapping; ES mapping; ecosystem assessment).
