Projects focus on negative impacts of climate change on forest and offer the recommendations for forest management, adapted to these changes. MANFRED investigates and raises awareness to the wider scope of threats to alpine forests (pests, diseases, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, e.g. fires). On the other hand, ALP FIRRS focuses mainly on forest fires but offers some very concrete and read- to-implement results, such as unified Alpine Forest Fire Danger Scale, Alpine Forest Fire Glossary and Recommendations for policy makers.
