Koristi so pozitivne spremembe ali vzdrževanje dobrega počutja ljudi za izpolnjevanje potreb in zahtev z zagotavljanjem storitev ekosistemov (Maes et al. 2014; van der Ploeg et al. 2010) 1) 2) . Skupaj z dobrinami (glej dobrine) so koristi opredeljene kot stvari, ki ljudi ustvarimo ali ki izhajajo iz končnih ekosistemskih storitev (glej končne ES). Ti končni iznosi iz ekosistemov so bili spremenjeni v izdelke ali izkušnje, ki niso več funkcionalno povezani sistem, iz katerega izhajajo (Haines-Young & Potschin 2013, p. 9) 3) .
