DEFINITION

The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity (TEEB) http://www.teebweb.org/resources/ecosystem-services/ characterizes Provisioning Services as ecosystem services that describe the material or energy outputs from ecosystems

According to TEEB we can categorize Provisioning Services into 4 groups such as:

Food: Agroculture relies strictly on the ecosystems and uses as well resources of freshwater and forestry

Raw materials: Industry uses structural and energy reserves as wood, oil plant and biofuels.

Fresh water: Ecosystems take part in the hydrological cycle.

Medicinal resources: Among ecosystems we can numerous plants and mushrooms, possible used for medicine production.
