SAB is a private association founded in 1943. It is a multi-sectoral organisation including 22 cantons, 700 municipalities, mountain regions,associations and enterprises from various fields,individual persons.

Main targets: - To influence policy-making in Switzerland - To encourage initiatives in mountain areas

International orientation Euromontana, participation at the Alpine Convention,projects in the Alpine Space, projects in Eastern Europe and in the Caucasus.
