Projects deal (directly and indirectly) with climate change, and provide new knowledge regarding: - the impacts of climate change

• forest degradation due to pests (MANFRED);
• natural disasters and urbanisation (ALP FFIRS, MANFRED);
• permafrost degradation (PermaNET);
• increased migration of fauna and flora (Econnect);

- the mitigation and adaptation to climate change

• appropriate forest management for preventing the further degradation (MANFRED, ALP FFIRS);
• responsible spatial planning for avoiding the negative effects of climate change, e.g. avoiding building on areas with permafrost (PermaNET); safeguarding the natural ecological corridors (Econnect); slow down the process of land fragmentation due to urbanisation (MANFRED, Econnect);

- the climate change policies

• preparing suitable legal framework for climate change policies and financial funds for their implementation (all projects).
