Swiss Center for Mountain Regions (SAB)
SAB is a private association founded in 1943. It is a multi-sectoral organisation including 22 cantons, 700 municipalities, mountain regions,associations and enterprises from various fields,individual persons.
The main targets are
- To influence policy-making in Switzerland
- To encourage initiatives in mountain areas
SAB is not only active in Switzerland but also involved on an international level such as the steering committee of Euromontana, participation at the Alpine Convention, projects in the Alpine Space Programme, projects in Eastern Europe and in the Caucasus.
