Technical Capital

Technical or alternatively manufactured capital is one of the nation’s wealth core stocks of capital that includes e.g. machines and buildings (EEA 2015) 1). (See also human capital and natural capital)

Technical capital (as well as human capital) input blurs the “real” or “pure” ecosystem service output. Within the AlpES project it was decided not to exclude ecosystem services which are generated with support of technical and human capital. But manufactured/technical capital inputs are indicated, to raise awareness where uncertainties occur when measuring ecosystem service outputs.
